So far, we have discussed The Critic that lives inside us and how to identify it. Today, we will work on silencing The Critic to begin our personal healing.

Before I began my personal healing, The Critic in my head was stopping me from doing so many things. I was even afraid to start Heart Flow because The Critic in my head told me I was destined for failure.

You see, The Critic is a danger to our spirits and our progress. It is the voice of our limiting self-beliefs. For me, it is the ex; for you, it might be a caregiver or friend. The Critic does not want to heal; The Critic intends to keep us mired in the pain of the past.

Thankfully, I discovered a way to defeat The Critic, and I want to share it with you so your journey to personal healing can begin.

We have to first understand that The Critic is not always speaking the truth. Take a step back from The Critic and evaluate whether something you are telling yourself is true. These steps will help.

  • Here is the key to defeating The Critic- YOU can decide whether this thought or belief is serving you for your highest good. Is it helping you grow, or is it keeping you stuck right where you are?

  • Whatever the belief is, ask yourself if everyone would believe it. If everyone agrees on it, then it's true. For example, if the thought or idea is that you aren't lovable, all must agree that you are not lovable for it to be true.

  • Time to take action! Find in yourself the positive, truthful voices to disprove The Critic. For every harmful thought, think of 2-3 positive truths to go with it. At first, it might be difficult so try using the voice of a loving caregiver, partner, or friend.

Challenge the negative voice and beliefs! What do you love about yourself? What would others say they love about you? If you are having trouble with this, ask a trusted loved one for their thoughts.

Doing this exercise daily will raise your awareness and quiet The Critic. If there is anyone you need in your corner more, it's YOU!

If you find yourself stuck in silencing The Critic or want to get started on your path to personal healing, book a FREE 30-minute Discovery Session.

From my heart to yours,

Lynn
